Jairam Ramesh: “I Only Speak on Kashi Vishwanath, Not Kamal Nath”

National Desk, 18th February: In a significant statement, Congress General Secretary in-charge Communications, Jairam Ramesh, remarked on former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath, stating, “‘Main sirf Kashi Vishwanath ki baat karta hoon, Kamal Nath ki nahi’.” Ramesh’s statement comes amidst swirling rumors of Nath’s potential switch to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), further complicating the political landscape ahead of the national elections.

Speculations regarding Nath’s political allegiance gained momentum following his recent arrival in Delhi on February 17, triggering speculation about possible engagements with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. Despite insider reports indicating Nath’s proximity to BJP state leaders like VD Sharma, the former Chief Minister has refrained from formal interactions with BJP leadership thus far.

Meanwhile, the constituency of Chhindwara, which Nath has represented nine times in the Lok Sabha, is buzzing with calls for his transition to the BJP, purportedly in pursuit of better development opportunities. Sources close to the matter suggest that local sentiments favor Nath’s potential move to the BJP, anticipating positive outcomes for the region’s progress.

Adding to the intrigue, there are murmurs of Kamal Nath’s son, Nakul Nath, contemplating a similar shift to the BJP alongside his father. Nakul Nath, the current representative of the Chhindwara constituency, recently garnered attention for allegedly removing ‘Congress’ from his social media bio. However, sources clarify that his bio never explicitly mentioned the party’s name.

The timing of Kamal Nath’s visit to Delhi coincides with the BJP’s two-day national council, attended by top leaders from across the country, sparking further speculation about his political trajectory and potential alliances. As conjectures swirl and political dynamics evolve, Nath’s next steps remain uncertain, shaping the narrative of Madhya Pradesh’s political landscape.
