Guwahati: Two terrorists were killed in an encounter between security forces and militants in Shopian district of South Kashmir on Friday.
The incident took place in the Amshipora area of the district.
According to reports, security forces launched a cordon and search operation acting on specific input about the presence of terrorists.
The search operation turned into an encounter after the terrorists fired upon the security forces who retaliated.
According to police, two militants have been killed.
The security forces further recovered incriminating materials, including arms and ammunition, from the slain terrorists.
However, the exchange of fire is currently underway and further details were awaited.
