Jeshan Daruvala creates history, becomes first Indian to win Formula 2 race

Promising racer and Carlin driver Jeshan Daruvala has created history on Sunday when he became the first Indian player to win a Formula 2 race. The racer finished topped at the Sakhir Grand Prix after defeating his counterpart Dan Ticktum.

Jeshan Daruvala won the race by a 2.9 second margin. After the win Jeshan said “Motorsport is pretty big in India. We obviously have a lot of people, so I have a big fan base back home, and my goal at the end of the day is to do myself and my country proud. “(I have) to prove to people from back home that even though we don’t have the same facilities and stuff that guys have in Europe, as long as you can work hard you can fight right at the sharp end of the grid.” However Michael Schumacher’s son Mick Schumacher triumphed the Formula 2 championship 2020 with 215 points.
