Guwahati: As many as nine people were detained in connection with a robbery at the godown of a departmental store in Tinsukia district of Assam.
The incident was reported at the Jiomart godown in Doom Dooma near Makum junction on Sunday evening.
According to reports, around Rs 10 lakh were stolen during the robbery.
It is also learned that a few store employees were also detained for interrogation.
“The whole incident took place when the store security was on duty, which might indicate that it was an inside job,” a senior police officer said.
“We will come to a conclusion after a thorough investigation,” he added.
