Guwahati: Two terrorists belonging to the proscribed terrorist organisation Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) have been arrested from Bandipora district of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday.
The accused identified as Abid Ali and Faisal Hassan Parray. Both are the residents of Herpora Achan Pulwama.
According to reports, both of them were arrested while the police officials were conducting searches of pedestrians and vehicles, two individuals were observed moving suspiciously in a car who tried to conceal their identity on seeing the naka party.
However, on being challenged, the suspicious persons tried to break the checkpoint and were tactfully apprehended.
The police officials have recovered arms and ammunitions including an AK-47 rifle, two magazines with 30 live rounds, a pistol, a pistol magazine with four live rounds and four pistol fired cases
Police officials further informed that the vehicle was also seized.
Meanwhile, a case has been registered under relevant parts of the law.
Further investigation into the matter is underway.
