Ahead Of Amit Shah’s Assam Visit CM Sarma Takes Stock Of Preparations
Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma visited Nehru Stadium in Guwahati on Sunday to assess the last preparations for an upcoming Assam Police event that will be addressed by Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
Assam Police received the prestigious ‘President’s Colour’ award lately. At an event on May 10 in Guwahati, it will be formally handed over to the union minister.
Shah will be welcomed with a march arranged by the Assam Police, which will be included in the event’s itineraries.
Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta, the Director General of Police (DGP) of Assam Police, was also present to inspect the preparations, as was Special DGP for Law-and-Order Gyanendra Pratap Singh.
On May 2, top Assam Police officers led by DGP Mahanta launched a bike rally dubbed “Ride of Pride” to promote integration.
The bike rally was held to commemorate the prestigious award’s achievement. It began in Dhubri and will go 2,055 kilometres across 27 districts of the state in eight days.
Assam Police became India’s tenth state police force to get the prestigious President’s Colour Award.
