J&K: 3 Killed, 17 Injured In Bus Collision

Guwahati: As many as 17 people have been injured and three others sustained injuries in a tragic incident that occurred after two buses collided in the Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir.

According to reports, a 13 year old girl was among the three people who were killed.

The accident took place at the Jammu-Pathankot National Highway.

Among the injured, at least seven people have received multiple injuries.

“17 injured, 3 including a 13-year-old girl killed. At least 7 have been referred to other hospitals as they received multiple injuries,” said Dr Bharat Bhushan, Samba district hospital Medical officer.

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha expressed his sorrow and stated he was deeply in pain by the deaths caused by the road accident in Doda and Samba.

“Extremely pained by the loss of lives in unfortunate road accidents in Doda and Samba. My deepest condolences to the families of deceased. Praying for the early recovery of the injured. Directed the district administrations to provide all possible assistance,” the Lieutenant Governor said in a tweet.

Meanwhile, four people were reported missing after their car lost control and slammed into the Chenab on Wednesday in the Doda area of Jammu and Kashmir.

The State Disaster Response Force and the Indian Army both involved in the rescue effort.

Earlier, Union Minister Jitendra Singh stated that he is in daily contact with the authorities and that every attempt is being made to locate the accident victims.
