JP Nadda Appoints DR Thapa As New Chief of BJP In Sikkim

Guwahati: BJP national president JP Nadda appointed D R Thapa to serve as the BJP’s Sikkim unit chairman with immediate effect on Saturday.

According to report, Nadda designated MLA D T Leptcha as the Special Invitee of the National Executive Committee and MLA NK Sabha with immediate effect as the Leader of the Sikkim BJP’s Legislative Party.

The change has occurred as the party prepares to run in the Northeastern states’ Assembly elections.

According to the Election Commission of India (ECI), the voting for the 2023 Assembly elections will take place in Tripura on February 16 and in Nagaland and Manipur on February 27.

Additionally, the ECI stated that results for these assembly elections would be announced on March 2.
