JP Nadda slams TMC ahead of Meghalaya assembly polls: TMC means ‘Tolabaji, Mafia, Corruption’

Guwahati: Bharatiya Janta Party president JP Nadda launched a scathing attack on the Trinamool Congress (TMC), claiming that TMC stands for “Tolabaji, Mafia, and Corruption.”

Nadda claimed that Trinamool Congress prioritises politics before religion while speaking to a crowd during a rally in Shillong’s Barapathar Taxi Stand ahead of the assembly election.

Addressing the rally, JP Nadda said, “I came to know there is a party called TMC here…but T stands for Tolabazi, M stands for Money laundering and mafia raaj and C stands for corruption and commission.”

BJP chief JP Nadda criticised the current administration for failing to develop the state because of continued corruption.

Nadda further asserted that TMC plays politics, separates society, and puts politics over religion.

The national president added that TMC recruits individuals from abroad to garner support and win elections.

The BJP president made fun of the Congress party by asserting that it is neither on one side nor the other.

“Congress party belongs to no one…they just need power, they fight together in Bengal and get separated while fighting in Assam,” he added.

He urged people to reject this government and said, “Vote out this kind of government and ensure that BJP returns to power in Meghalaya.”

After PM Modi stepped in and made sure that thousands of our students who were trapped in Ukraine were returned home safely, Nadda expressed his happiness that over 35 students from Meghalaya had also been returned home safely.

On the other side, the Meghalayan BJP unit plans to issue its election manifesto on February 15.

PM Modi is also scheduled to visit the state and participate in a road show at Shillong on February 24, 2023.

The campaign for chief minister has already started in Meghalaya, where the Assembly elections are two weeks away.
