Guwahati: The Kamrup (Metro) district administration has established a helpline number for locals during the monsoon to call in order to receive emergency assistance from the administration during floods.
The administration’s phone numbers are 0361-1077/ 9678471071. The lines will be available 24×7 and citizens who require assistance can dial this number.
In particular, Guwahati has been flooded artificially since Tuesday morning due to heavy rain. Rain has also caused waterlogging in numerous areas. Flooding and landslides have been recorded in various regions of the city, trapping several residents.
It needs to be mentioned that the guard wall near Isckon temple at Gandhibasti also collapsed due to landslide. However, no casualties have been reported so far.
