Guwahati: Pallav Gopal Jha, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of the Kamrup Metro, has been appointed as the new Managing Director (MD) of the Guwahati Metropolitan Drinking Water and Sewerage Board, a government order read.
“In the interest of Public Service, Shri Pallav Gopal Jha, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Kamrup (M) and Project Director, PIU, JICA assisted Guwahati Water Supply Project is also posted as Managing Director, Guwahati Metropolitan Drinking Water & Sewerage Board and Project Director, PIA, JICA assisted Guwahati Sewerage Project in addition to his substantive post,” the order read.
It needs to be noted that on April 18, a Sampath had resigned from his Managing Director post of Guwahati Metropolitan Drinking Water and Sewerage Board, citing personal reasons behind his decision. He was appointed as MD following a Cabinet decision in September 2021.
