Kangana Ranaut Meets Assam CM, says ‘Such an honour and privilege…’

Guwahati: Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut who is now in Assam for the filming of the upcoming movie “Emergency,” met the state Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday in Guwahati.

The celebrity thanked CM Sarma for his encouragement and support.

Taking to her Instagram, she wrote, “Such a delight to meet. Honourable Chief Minister Assam, Shri Himanta Biswa Sarma ji…. He extended his support for our team as we begin our outdoor schedule very soon in various locations across Assam… Such an honour and privilege to get his support and encouragement. Many thanks, sir.”

The 35-year-old celebrity is claimed to have called as a courtesy during the encounter.

Himanta Biswa Sarma, on the other hand, tweeted a few images from the meeting and stated, “I was pleased to meet Kangana Ranaut, an actor, writer, and director, today at my office. She will be filming one of her productions in Assam, which I am happy about. I congratulated her and promised she would have my whole support.”

The actress was also given a traditional Assamese Gamusa by the Assam chief minister.

The late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi will be portrayed by Kangana in her upcoming historical drama “Emergency.” Kangana’s first solo-directed movie is called “Emergency.” In addition to Kangana, the movie also has important performances by Anupam Kher, Mahima Chaudhry, Vishak Nair and Shreyas Talpade.
