Karnataka: 46 Arrests Made After Ganesh Idol Procession Turns Violent in Nagamangala Town

National Desk, 12th September: A Ganesh idol procession in Nagamangala town turned violent on Wednesday night, leaving a trail of destruction and minor injuries. Authorities have arrested 46 individuals in connection with the incident, which saw stone pelting, vandalism, and arson.

According to Mandya Superintendent of Police Mallikarjun Baldandi, the situation has been brought under control, with additional security forces deployed and prohibitory orders in place till September 14. A case has been registered for various offenses, including unlawful assembly and attempt to murder.

The violence erupted when an argument broke out between two groups during the procession, leading to clashes and property damage. Police used mild force to disperse the crowd and restore order. The incident has raised concerns about public safety and communal tensions in the region.
