Kaziranga National Park to be Closed for Tourists From May
Guwahati: Elephant safaris will be closed in Kaziranga National Park from May. The 2022-23 tourist season of Kaziranga will end in mid-May.
The decision was taken by the Kaziranga National Park authority due to rains. This was announced by the forest authorities in Kaziranga on Tuesday.
According to reports, elephant safaris have been closed for tourists in Kaziranga National Park from May 1 due to inclement weather and onset of monsoon. Along with this, the park authorities have also decided to stop the jeep safari from May 16.
The Kaziranga National Park has created a record with the arrival of three lakh four thousand tourists till March. The order was issued by the Kaziranga National Park authority through a notification.
According to the directions of the National Park Authority, elephant safaris will be closed from May 1 and jeep safaris will be closed for tourists from May 16. The order has been issued by the National Park authority as per the prevailing rules.
It may be recalled that the 2022-23 tourist year of Kaziranga started on October 2, 2022.
