Security Forces Destroyed IED Recovered In Assam’s Tinsukia

Guwahati: An (IED) Improvised Explosive Device was discovered under a flyover in the Tinsukia district of Assam on Wednesday afternoon. It was successfully destroyed by the security forces.

According to reports, Security personnel discovered an IED under the Makum Bypass overpass in Tinsukia that weighed about 1 kg.

The forces immediately cordoned off the area and stopped the movements of vehicles through the bypass after discovering the explosives.

Later, security forces successfully destroyed the IED placed in an open field.

Police stated that further inquiry has been started but that the IED’s origin has not yet been determined.

In Manipur’s Ukhrul town last month, an IED detonated, injuring one nearby person.

According to reports, the Ukhrul IED explosion occurred between the Makhan Store and Viewland Baptist Church.

The injured person was taken immediately after the incident to a nearby hospital for treatment.

At the time, neither a person nor an underground organisation had taken responsibility of the occurrence.

Meanwhile, paramilitary and Ukrul police troops arrived at the scene and started an inquiry into the ncident.

A manhunt was launched to nab the person behind the blast.
