Guwahati: KK’s final rituals will be performed in Mumbai on Thursday (June 2). He will be cremated at the Versova cremation cemetery.
The singer’s body was flown to Mumbai on an Air India flight on Wednesday night after the post-mortem.
The West Bengal government paid KK’s final respects by firing a pistol salute at his remains on Wednesday.
Mamata Banerjee, the Chief Minister of West Bengal, paid floral tributes to the late singer at Rabindra Sadan where his body had been kept for a while.
Preliminary post-mortem reports revealed that he died of a cardiac arrest.
According to reports, the preliminary report submitted by the SSKM Hospital to the Kolkata Police stated that he died of a ‘myocardial infarction,’ also known as a heart attack.
Although the Kolkata Police had previously registered an unnatural death case in connection with the singer’s demise, the preliminary investigation indicated otherwise.
KK died on Tuesday night only hours after his gig in Kolkata, after suffering a heart arrest.
KK was performing at a concert at Gurudas College when he suddenly started feeling uneasy on the stage.
KK may be seen wiping his face with a towel in videos shared on social media, and sometimes signalling to his colleagues to turn off the lighting.
