Lady IPS Officer D Roopa transferred over 40 times in 20 years
D Roopa, a braveheart who served the common people whole heartedly for 20 years. IPS Officer D Roopa is the Karnataka’s first woman home secretary now has been transferred to Karnataka State Handicrafts Development Corporation as its managing director.
Roopa was born in Davanagere and cleared the UPSC with All India Rank of 43 back in 2000. In her 20 years of duty she was transferred over 40 times. She was also awarded the prestigious President Medal in 2016 and also in 2017.
D Roopa alleged late Tamil Nadu chief minister Jayalalithaa’s aide V.K. Sasikala for disproportionate assets conviction and was later in the aide was in prison. She also fought against a former chief minister of Karnataka when she removed a number of police vehicles being used in his cavalcade without permit.
