Lucknow: Two Rescued After Vehicle Plunged Into Gomti River, Two Missing

Guwahati: A car plunged into the Gomti river near the riverbank on Tuesday night in Lucknow, two of the four occupants were rescued.

The accident took place across the Baikunth Dham riverbank, close to the Mahanagar Police Station area. The car, which was going to Vikas Nagar, veered off the road into the river.

When the police, members of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), and members of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) arrived, the rescue effort was started.

Suryapal Gangwar, the Lucknow District Magistrate, and Special CP also arrived at the location.

Two of the car’s four occupants were saved, but the other two are still missing, according to authorities.

The DM further stated that Rahul and Mina are two missing people, while Dushyant and Abhishek were two people who had been rescued. The four people in Gomti Nagar operated a beauty salon.
The rescue crew also pulled the accident-involved car from the river.

A pet dog was also in the car in addition to the four occupants, the DM added, adding that the dog died in the collision.

Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, took notice of the situation as well and instructed the involved police to get at the scene right once.
Additionally, he oversaw a war-like rescue effort and saw to the proper care of the rescued people.
