Madonna hospitalized with serious infection, postpones her world tour
Entertainment Desk, 29 June: American singer-songwriter Madonna had to be hospitalised with a “serious bacterial infection” and had to postpone her world tour, according to her manager.
Guy Oseary, the singer’s manager posted on Instagram that Madonna had spent several days in an intensive care unit after becoming ill on Saturday. According to Oseary, the 64-year-old singer is anticipated to fully recover.
Madonna’s career-spanning Celebration tour had to be postponed because of the sudden illness. On July 15, it was scheduled to begin in Vancouver.
Oseary wrote, “Her health is improving, however she is still under medical care.” Madonna’s tour postponement was confirmed by Live Nation who cited the post of her manager.
Madonna was supposed to kick off her world tour in Vancouver on July 15 and she was supposed to end it in Amsterdam in December.
She would stop in a number of cities during the tour, including Detroit, Chicago, New York, Miami, Los Angeles, Denver, Atlanta and Boston, according to the information. The first leg was supposed to end in Las Vegas on October 7.
Meanwhile, Madonna’s manager added that information regarding the new dates would be made public soon.
