Major Ganja Seizure at Assam-Bengal Border: 402 kg Confiscated, Three Arrested
Guwahati, 25th July: In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking, police forces seized 402 kg of ganja during a raid at Srirampur on National Highway 31C, at the Assam-Bengal border. The operation led to the arrest of three individuals.
The raid was spearheaded by SDPO Gosaigaon Hiren Kumar Deka, with critical support from Simultapu Police. Authorities intercepted a truck with registration number HR 46F 4203, traveling from Guwahati to Bihar.
Upon thorough inspection, officers discovered a concealed chamber inside the vehicle, which was packed with the illegal substance. The truck driver and two accomplices were promptly taken into custody following the discovery.
This operation marks a significant victory in the ongoing battle against drug trafficking in the region, highlighting the dedication and efficiency of the local police forces. Further investigations are underway to uncover the full extent of the drug network involved.
