Man Kills 2 month’s pregnant wife over a ‘Love Affair’

Guwahati: In what may be described as a gruesome replay of the Guwahati murder case, a man allegedly killed his pregnant wife in Boko of Assam, reports stated on Friday.

Initial reports state that the accused killed his wife after falling in love with someone else.

The murder incident has been reported from Boko in South Kamrup of Assam.

As per reports, the couple had tied the knot just six months ago, albeit under questionable circumstances.

The murder accused identified as Akhtar Hussain, the son of Shan Mian and a resident of Natun Deuchar village had eloped with the victim, a 17-year-old minor girl, daughter of Asim Uddin and a resident of Kolohikash village of Boko.

However, soon after they were married, the alleged Akhtar Hussain abandoned her for another lady. To this, the victim wife had objected, which is now suspected to be the reason behind her murder.

The victim was two months pregnant at the time of her murder, according to the deceased’s family.

The deceased’s relatives said that Akhtar Hussain began plotting her murder as soon as the victim objected to her husband’s extramarital affair.

According to the victim’s family, Akhtar killed the person on March 1 and then fled the scene with his family.

Meanwhile, the victim’s family located the body and sent it to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for a postmortem after filing a complaint in the murder case with the Boko police.

A family member said, “We have just returned from GMCH and we are in distraught. Akhtar Hussain had eloped with our child and his father had got them married. We received information of her murder yesterday and rushed to check out. We were told that she had hanged herself but we found no such signs there.”

“Officials from Boko Police Station also came to the spot and found no evidence of her committing suicide. Hence, we suspect the Akhtar and his family murdered as they are nowhere to be found now,” he added.

Boko Police have started an investigation into the murder case based on the FIR that the victim’s father lodged. The family urged that Akhtar Hussain, the murder suspect husband, be detained and prosecuted as soon as possible.
