Guwahati: In a horrific incident, a man was shot on Tuesday afternoon at Rani, outskirts of Guwahati.
The incident, according to sources, happened while the man was on his way to pick up his child from school in front of Carmel School close to Rani Police Station.
The individual has been identified as Tarapati-area resident Milan Das. He received gunshot wounds to his right hand.
Das was immediately taken to the Rani Community Health Center.
Locals believe the bullet came from a close-by firing range, although the precise reason has not yet been determined.
