Manik Saha to Take Oath as Tripura CM today at Raj Bhawan
Guwahati: The leader of the Tripura BJP Manik Saha will be sworn in as the state’s chief minister today at Raj Bhawan in Agartala.
He will take oath as the state’s 11th Chief Minister. The swearing-in ceremony for the Council of Ministers will take place at Raj Bhawan in Agartala on May 15 at 11:30 a.m.
Notably, this comes just one day after Biplab Kumar Deb resigned as Tripura Chief Minister.
It is to be noted Dr. Saha (69) is a Rajya Sabha MP and the leader of the state’s political party, which will have elections in March next year.
Moreover, Dr. Saha, a professor of dental surgery, would be expected to lead the party to success in the assembly elections in the northeastern state, where the Trinamool Congress is also attempting to establish itself as a major factor.
It may be mentioned that Manik Saha was named hours after Deb redigned from the postof Tripura CM on Saturday.
