Manipur: 13 People Killed in Tengnoupal Firing Incident, Bodies Brought to JNIMS

Northeast Desk, 5th December: The Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences on December 4 recovered the bodies of at least 13 individuals who were reportedly killed in an alleged ambush by suspected Kuki militants.

The purported ambush took place in a wooded area near Leithao Village in Tengnoupal District under Machi Police Station yesterday morning, according to reports.

The deceased were brought to JNIMS for post-mortem examination at midnight.

For those unaware, a fresh incident of firing was reported in Tengnoupal district during the early hours of December 4.

 In response to this, Assam Rifles launched an operation after receiving intelligence inputs.

At least 13 bodies were recovered in the Leithu area of Tengnoupal district in Manipur, an area said to be dominated by Kukis.

It’s noteworthy that no weapons were recovered from the site of the ambush.
