Manipur: Assam Rifles Commemorates Freedom Fighter Haipou Jadonang on 119th Birth Anniversary

Northeast Desk, 1st August: Assam Rifles honored the legacy of freedom fighter Haipou Jadonang on his 119th birth anniversary with a commemorative ceremony at Kambiron Village, Nungba. The event, held in the early hours, included wreath presentations, an opening prayer, speeches, and a closing hymn.

Haipou Jadonang is celebrated for his role in abolishing superstitious practices and for founding the Hereka movement. His progressive ideas had a significant impact on the local communities.

The ceremony, marked by enthusiastic participation from local residents, underscores Assam Rifles’ dedication to honoring historical figures and strengthening ties with the community.
