Northeast Desk, 10th May: During his visit to the Bishnupur district, Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh assured farmers affected by the recent hailstorm of government compensation.
He expressed his commitment to aiding those who suffered losses due to the disaster and stated that officials would soon assess the situation to determine appropriate assistance.
Additionally, Singh announced plans to launch a new scheme aimed at supporting agriculture and horticulture sectors. He also appealed to local clubs for assistance in repairing the over 15,000 damaged houses, promising that reconstruction materials, including tin sheets, would arrive within four days.
The devastating hailstorm not only damaged thousands of houses but also caused extensive destruction to hectares of farmland in the state.
