Manipur: Indian Army Launches Modern Computer Lab and Skill Development Centre in Senapati District

Impahl: In a significant move towards community empowerment, the Indian Army has established a state-of-the-art computer lab and a Skill Development Centre in Manipur’s Senapati district under Operation Sadbhavana. The initiative aims to uplift local communities by providing essential learning and vocational training resources.

The computer lab, located at the PK Shedu Revival Foundation Children’s Home in Kathiku Karong village, was inaugurated to support the education of orphaned children. The facility is well-equipped with seven computers, a printer, a projector, and additional accessories to facilitate a modern learning environment. The inauguration ceremony saw the presence of Army officers, local village chiefs, and community members, who praised the Army’s ongoing efforts to promote educational opportunities in the region.

In a parallel initiative, the Indian Army also launched a fully furnished Skill Development Centre in Taphou Pudunamei village. This centre is focused on empowering local women, including widows and Veer Naris (wives of fallen soldiers), by providing them with the tools and training needed to become self-reliant. The facility is furnished with 15 sewing machines, three embroidery machines, and necessary furniture and equipment, enabling women to learn stitching and embroidery, which can help them generate income and support their families.

These projects mark a significant step in enhancing the socio-economic fabric of the region, offering both educational and vocational pathways for personal growth and community development.
