Northeast Desk, 7th February: In a significant development in the fight against illegal drug trafficking, the Shillong Customs department operating in the Imphal Division seized three packets of Brown Sugar from an individual in Imphal, Manipur on February 7.
Acting on specific intelligence inputs, authorities apprehended the individual in possession of Brown Sugar weighing 1.732 kilograms. The estimated value of the seized contraband is approximately Rs 8.66 crore.
The arrested individual has been taken into custody for further interrogation regarding the seizure. Legal proceedings against the detainee have been initiated as part of the ongoing investigation into the matter.
