Manipur: PM Modi laid foundation for BJP’s double engine govt

Manipur: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said that the BJP’s double-engine government has created the groundwork for Manipur’s prosperity over the next 25 years.

While addressing an election rally in Heingang of Manipur, the Prime Minister stated that the BJP will form administration in the state once more.

“Over the previous five years, the BJP’s double engine government has strived to improve Manipur’s overall development. You’ve witnessed the BJP’s good governance and intentions. The work we’ve done over the previous five years has created the groundwork for the next 25 years. “You have seen BJP’s strong government and good intentions,” PM Modi stated.

The Prime Minister in a jab at the Congress, claimed that after decades of Congress governance in Manipur, the state had only seen inequity.

He further said that the BJP government has made the unthinkable possible, noting that bandhs and blockades have been lifted in every region of Manipur.

“On the other hand, the Congress has made bandhs and blockades the hallmark of Manipur,” he continued.

The Prime Minister also urged young people and first-time voters to vote, claiming that the youth have put down their weapons and are stepping up to lead the development push.

“I’d like to appeal to the youth and first-time voters,” he continued, “because your vote is your active involvement in this administration and you become a part of the decision-making.”

PM Modi praised Chief Minister N Biren Singh’s efforts, saying that his government has written a new chapter of change for Manipur that will benefit everyone.

He further said that the BJP government has done a good job of looking for the state during COVID.

“In Manipur, everyone is given a free immunisation.” What would have happened if a pandemic like this had struck before 2017?” he wondered.

PM Modi stated that the free ration is now available to 7 out of 10 Manipuri.

“The ladies of Manipur had fought a historic war against foreign armies. Former regimes did not make life easier for Manipuri women. “Only the NDA governments recognised their issues and strived to improve their lives,” Prime Minister Modi stated.

The next round of voting in Manipur will take place on March 5, with the results being announced on March 10.
