Manipur Police Rescue Missing Minor in Joint Operation with Mumbai Police

Thoubal, Manipur – A collaborative effort between Manipur Police and Mumbai Police led to the successful rescue of a missing minor girl from Navi Mumbai’s Jasai area.

The operation, led by SDPO Yairipok, took place under the jurisdiction of Uran Police Station on October 31.

The accused, identified as Laishram Sanathoi Singh—whose real name is Abdul Mannaf Choudhury, 25—hails from Jirighat Bagicha Part-I, Assam. He has been taken into custody, and authorities are proceeding with necessary legal actions, including a medical examination to ensure the minor’s well-being.

The Manipur Police team, including officers from the Women Police Station in Thoubal District, will return to Manipur after obtaining transit remand from the magistrate.

In a separate incident, security forces recovered a large arms and ammunition cache from Panjang village, located in the upper reaches of the Thangjing ridge in Churachandpur district. Recovered items include four rockets (7-8 feet each), two large country-made mortars, one medium-sized country-made mortar, three improvised mortar bombs, a radio set, and grenades, underscoring ongoing security concerns in the region.

Further investigation into both cases is underway.
