Manipur Strengthens Security with 125 Checkpoints and Extensive Search Operations

Northeast Desk, 11th July: In a concerted effort to enhance security across Manipur, security forces have established 125 nakas/checkpoints in various districts, covering both hill and valley regions. These checkpoints aim to bolster surveillance and deter unauthorized activities amid heightened vigilance.

Official reports indicate that 98 individuals have been detained for violations detected during these operations throughout the state. This crackdown is part of broader efforts to maintain law and order and ensure public safety.

In addition to the checkpoints, security forces have conducted extensive search operations and area domination exercises in vulnerable hill and valley districts. These efforts are designed to preempt potential security threats and maintain stability across the region.

Furthermore, stringent security measures have been implemented along National Highway-2 (NH-2) to facilitate the smooth movement of essential goods. A convoy system has been introduced in sensitive stretches to safeguard vehicular traffic, ensuring uninterrupted transportation of essential items crucial for daily life.
