Guwahati: Two suspected militants of the United Kuki Liberation Front (UKLF) from Chandel by the Manipur Police.
The suspected cadres identified as Thangboi Haokip alias TL Jacob Thadou and Khamminlen Mate, both residents of Pheijang village were arrested based on inputs of them being involved in certain extortion related crimes in and around the K Molnom village area. Both of them were also accused of assaulting and threatening several villagers in the area of the Chandel district.
After their arrest, the police recovered one AK-47 assault rifle along with three magazines and 40 live rounds of ammunition, one 12 bore pump action gun with 4 live rounds of ammunition, and some “objectionable” documents with them.
The police source further informed Thangboi Haokip is the Organisation Secretary UKLF.
