Manipur: Tension Flares at Polling Booth Over Alleged Intimidation of Congress Agents

Northeast Desk, 19th April: A tense situation unfolded at the Iroisemba polling booth in Manipur, marked by allegations of intimidation and threats aimed at preventing Congress agents from being present.

Violence erupted at the Iroisemba polling station under Imphal West. The situation escalated when armed miscreants allegedly demanded that only BJP agents should be allowed inside the polling room, while agents from other parties were asked to leave.

The incident took a violent turn when voters reportedly vandalized voting machines, causing damage and disruption to the electoral process. One protester, speaking about the situation, highlighted the excessive and threatening actions of these miscreants, who allegedly warned of consequences if agents from other parties did not comply with their demands.
