Manipur: Violence Erupts as Armed Miscreants Allegedly Infiltrate Polling Stations in Imphal East; 3 Injured

Guwahati, 19th April: At least three individuals sustained injuries after miscreants armed with weapons purportedly breached a polling station in Khongman, Imphal East.

These individuals proceeded to cast votes on behalf of multiple voters, despite the presence of police officials and political party agents.

Upon discovering this egregious act, enraged citizens stormed into the premises of National Children’s School in Khongman Zone 4, which houses polling station number 5 by 31, and vandalized the Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) machines.

The public condemned the armed miscreants, accusing them of engaging in proxy voting to secure victory for a particular candidate.

A similar incident unfolded at Khongman Zone 5 polling station, located approximately 200 meters away from polling station 5 by 31.
