Manish Sisodia Sent to ED Custody Till March 17 In Delhi Excise Policy Case
Guwahati: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and former Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia has had his remand in custody extended till March 17.
Manish Sisodia was given seven days in ED detention by Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court. This occurs after Sisodia was introduced to the court on Friday at 2:00 p.m.
According to the agency, Manish Sisodia will be interrogated for ten days in order to determine the modus operandi and challenge other people who have been summoned.
Following several hours of questioning at Tihar Prison on Thursday, the ED made the arrest of the former deputy chief minister of Delhi in the liquor policy case.
Sisodia was sent for 14 days in judicial prison on March 6 after being arrested by the CBI on February 26 in connection with the liquor policy case.
Earlier in the case, the ED conducted another arrest and detained Hyderabad-based businessman Arun Ramchandra Pillai.
The ED, on Thursday, summoned Bharatiya Rashtriya Samiti (BRS) MLC and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s daughter K Kavitha for questioning in the liquor policy case.
The CBI arrested Sisodia as part of an inquiry into suspected irregularities in the formulation and application of the excise policy of the National Capital Region of Delhi (GNCTD). He was committed to judicial custody until March 20 by Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court.
The ED submitted its initial chargesheet in the case last year. The agency claimed that since a FIR was filed, taking into account the CBI case opened on the advice of Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena, it had conducted approximately 200 search operations in this case.
