Meghalaya CM Conrad K. Sangma Attends Prayer Service at St. John Bosco Shrine in Sohra

Shillong: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma attended a prayer service at St. John Bosco in Sohra, where he offered prayers at the sacred relics of Don Bosco. The shrine, which holds a life-sized statue of the saint, also houses the bones of Don Bosco’s right hand within the casket, making it a significant site for the Catholic community.

The sacred relics, which arrived at the shrine in Sohra on March 6, had traveled a month-long journey from Turin. The shrine is a revered place for devotees, with many visiting to offer prayers to Don Bosco, known as God’s faithful servant and the people’s saint.

Earlier, on January 11, Chief Minister Sangma, along with senior government officials, concluded the first-ever Meghalaya Cabinet Retreat in Sohra. The two-day retreat focused on the challenges and strategies aimed at the state’s development. During the retreat, officials and departments discussed the state’s growth roadmap, Vision 2032, with the goal of propelling Meghalaya into the Top 10 States in India.
