Guwahati: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma said that he will commute to his office in an electric vehicle (EV).
Sangma stated that he chose to use an electric vehicle in order to lessen the state’s reliance on fossil fuels and to promote the usage of electric vehicles in government agencies and among the general public.
The chief minister said that he had asked other departments and citizens to start using electric vehicles as it is one step toward going green and ensuring that “we are able to do our part to protect the environment and reduce the impact of fossil fuels on global warming and climate change.”
The Sangma recently received an electric vehicle from the CM’s office which was delivered on Friday.
