Meth Worth Over Rs 6 Crores Seized in Mizoram

Guwahati: A large amount of Methamphetamine tablets worth over Rs 6 crore was seized during a joint operation in Mizoram on Tuesday.

According to reports, at least 30,000 tablets totalling nearly three kilogrammes were seized from Sairang village, which is close to the capital Aizawl.

The Border Security Force (BSF) and the Crime Investigation Department (CID) of the state police carried out the joint operation.

Additionally, officials also detained one person with possession, smuggling, and distribution of the recovered illegal narcotic.

The accused has been identified as 54-year-old P C Lalchharliana. He is a resident of Hunthar in Mizoram’s Aizawl.

According to officials, the value of the seized methamphetamine is worth Rs 6.6 crores in the international markets.

According to a police statement, the accused and the seized drugs were handed over to the special narcotics police station for further legal action.
