Minor Tremor Shakes Tripura’s North District
Agartala, Tripura: A minor earthquake jolted the Damcherra area of Tripura’s North District early Monday morning. The National Centre for Seismology (NCS) confirmed the 3.6-magnitude tremor, which struck at 3:56 AM.
The epicenter of the quake was located at a depth of 10 kilometers, with coordinates 24.20°N latitude and 92.27°E longitude. While the region experienced mild shaking, no reports of damages or casualties have emerged thus far.
Damcherra, situated near the tri-junction of Tripura, Assam, and Mizoram, is known for its proximity to geologically active zones. While this particular tremor caused minimal disturbance, experts underscore the importance of preparedness for future seismic events in the region.
