Mizoram Governor Assures Peaceful Elections, Urges High Voter Turnout

Northeast Desk, 14th April: Addressing the media, Mizoram Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati provided insights into the state’s preparedness for the upcoming single-phase Lok Sabha polls scheduled for April 19.

Highlighting Mizoram’s distinguished reputation as a profoundly peaceful state, Governor Kambhampati expressed confidence that the election processes would unfold smoothly, devoid of disturbances. He commended the disciplined nature of the people and their enthusiastic participation in the democratic process, noting that voter turnout often exceeds 80%.

In his appeal to all voters, including those participating for the first time, Governor Kambhampati urged them to exercise their voting rights on April 19. He assured the public that the Mizoram Police force is diligently implementing measures to ensure a peaceful voting environment.

Furthermore, Governor Kambhampati emphasized the state’s commitment to combatting drug smuggling, with proactive steps taken by the police to intercept illegal substances. These efforts underscore Mizoram’s dedication to maintaining law and order and ensuring the integrity of the electoral process.
