Northeast Desk, 14th February: In a significant operation targeting illegal smuggling activities, Assam Rifles and a joint team comprising special narcotics police and CID (crime) successfully seized 61.930 grams of heroin in Aizawl on February 13.
Based on specific intelligence inputs, the combined forces conducted a thorough search operation in the general area of Durtlang Leitan in Aizawl, leading to the discovery of the contraband, valued at approximately Rs 30,96,500.
Following the seizure, two individuals were apprehended and subsequently handed over to the Special Narcotics Police, CID (Crime), Aizawl, Mizoram, for further legal proceedings. This operation marks another successful crackdown on illicit drug trafficking in the region.
