Guwahati, 17th August: Tension gripped Sipajhar in Assam’s Darrang district as a man, suspected of being a ‘goat thief,’ was brutally attacked by an enraged mob, tragically leading to his demise. The incident unfolded in Padmajhar locality on Wednesday night when Mojibur Ali was apprehended by locals over allegations of goat theft.
The furious mob subjected Mojibur Ali to a merciless assault, leaving him unconscious. Despite police intervention, the situation remained volatile, with locals even attacking the police team and attempting to intervene.
Ali was eventually freed from the mob’s grasp by the police, who then hurriedly transported him to the hospital. Tragically, he soon passed away from his wounds.
Law enforcement authorities have taken action by arresting several individuals involved in the attack. The incident has sparked outrage and concerns over vigilante justice.
