Monsoon session of parliament 2023 to begin from July 20

National desk, 1 July: The Monsoon Session of Parliament for 2023 will start on July 20 and end on August 11, according to an announcement made by Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Pralhad Joshi on Saturday.

The first parliamentary meeting will take place in the new parliament building.

The session which is expected to be turbulent as the Opposition parties consolidated their positions in anticipation of the Lok Sabha elections next year against the Narendra Modi-led BJP, was invited to meaningful discussions by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi.

“Monsoon Session, 2023 of Parliament will commence from 20th July and continue till 11th August. Urge all parties to contribute towards productive discussions on Legislative Business and other items during the Monsoon Session,” tweets Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi.

With the opposition banding together to oppose the Narendra Modi-led BJP administration, the session is sure to be turbulent. It is anticipated that the Centre will field it as the arguments for enacting the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) gain traction.

After Prime Minister Modi made a compelling argument for a Uniform Civil Code, the Parliament will meet and initiatives to quicken the process have already started.

It’s believed that the Monsoon Session will start in the current Parliament building before shifting to the new one.
