Guwahati, 1st September: A shocking incident has occurred in Assam, where a mother is accused of forcefully drowning her two infant daughters, aged one-and-a-half years and three years old.
The incident took place in Hatikhal village in the Sonai tehsil of Assam’s Cachar district.
The mother, identified as Ajmira Begum, allegedly had an altercation with her husband, Babul Hussain, after which she ran away with their two children to a nearby lake and drowned them.
The local police arrived at the scene after neighbors reported the incident and arrested the mother, who confessed to killing her children.
Further investigation is ongoing, and post-mortem examinations will be conducted on the children’s bodies.
