Myanmar National Arrested With Drugs Worth Over Rs Crores In Mizoram

Guwahati: Security agencies have arrested a man from Myanmar for possessing drugs in Mizoram that were worth more than Rs 5.5 crore.

Assam Rifles troopers arrested the Myanmar national on Tuesday in the Champhai district of Mizoram.

In total, 1,117 kilogrammes of heroin were taken from the arrested Myanmar national by Assam Rifles troopers.

The arrestee has been identified as Ginsuanlang (34) who was taken into custody in Mizoram’s Champhai district near Hnahlan village.

There were as many as 100 soap cases used to disguise the heroin shipment.

The value of the confiscated heroin shipment on the overseas market is estimated to be Rs. 5.585 crore.

The accused and the seized goods were delivered to the Champhai police station in Mizoram after a preliminary inquiry.
