Nagaland Assembly Election Results: CM Neiphiu Rio wins From Northern Angami-ll Seat by huge margin with 15824 votes

Guwahati: Nagaland chief minister Neiphiu Rio received 15824 votes to win the Northern Angami-ll Assembly seat by an overwhelming 92.87% majority. Rio is the leader of the coalition between the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which will soon form the next Naga administration.

Many significant leaders have won the Nagaland assembly elections and the results are now being counted. The ruling alliance, which is aiming for a clear majority in the state parliament, will receive a significant lift from Rio’s strong victory.

Following the victory, Rio has guaranteed himself a five-year term as the Nagaland representative.

This triumph for Rio and his party is a much-needed respite given the state’s recent struggles, which have included an ongoing insurgency and economic hardships. The state’s administration is anticipated to become more stable and consistent following Rio’s victory.

Rio, a veteran politician, previously held the position of chief minister of Nagaland from 2003 to 2014 for three terms. He came back into power in 2018 after his party partnered with the BJP.

The Nagaland Assembly election results are viewed as a boost for the federal government’s ruling BJP, as the party has recently struggled to hold onto power in numerous states. The success of the NDPP-BJP coalition in Nagaland is anticipated to boost the party’s position in India’s northeast, where it has been attempting to increase its influence.
