Nagaland: Foreign cigarettes worth Rs 1.4 crores seized by Assam Rifles; 2 held
Guwahati: A massive illegal consignment of foreign cigarettes has been seized and two individuals apprehended by the troopers of Assam Rifles in Kohima district of Nagaland on Friday.
The consignment of foreign cigarettes has been estimated to be of worth over Rs 1.4 crores.
Sharing the news on Twitter, The Assam Rifles wrote, “ASSAM RIFLES RECOVER ILLEGAL FOREIGN CIGARETTES IN NAGALAND #AssamRifles, on 16 Mar, apprehended two individuals and recovered 64 cartons of contraband Cigarettes worth approx Rs. 1.4 crores in Kohima District, Nagaland.”

Meanwhile, in a similar incident, Assam Rifles seized 2500 kgs of illegal Areca Nuts worth approx Rs 45 lakhs at Kohima District of Nagaland.
