Nagaland: Union HM Amit Shah to address mega poll rally in Mon district on Feb 20

Guwahati: Union Home Minister Amit Shah will address at a massive public rally in the Mon district on February 20 in a move that will significantly boost the BJP’s campaign in poll-bound Nagaland.

The Union Home Minister is slated to arrive from New Delhi at Dibrugarh Airport around 3.20 pm In order to attend a rally in Nagaland’s Mon district at around 4 pm.

According to the schedule, Shah will campaign on February 21 in the Tuensang district.

Notably, elections for the 60-member Nagaland Assembly will be held on February 26. The BJP will run for 20 seats, while its coalition partner, the NDPP, will run for 40.

12 political parties are in the fray for the next assembly elections in Nagaland. In this election, a large number of political parties that have not traditionally taken the lead in state politics are running.

The North East Democratic Front, RPI(A), Rising People’s Party, and LJP (Ram Vilas) will all make their maiden appearances in the arena.

The list of candidates for the upcoming assembly elections was issued on February 5 by the Janata Dal (United) and the Republican Party of India (A). Six more candidates have been named by the Naga People’s Front (NPF), bringing the total to 21. Congress also released four more names, bringing the total number of candidates to 25. The intended candidates for the Aam Aadmi Party were also declared on February 7, which was the final day for submitting nominations.
