Guwahati: In the ongoing war against drugs the Assam police has arrested one lady in Karbi Anglong district of Assam on Thursday.
The incident took place in the Bokajan town of the district.
The lady has been identified as Mumtaz Begum who is a resident of Uluwani gaon of Nagaon district.
As per the sources of MyNewsNE, a bus bearing registration no AS-01-AC-2506 was intercepted by the Khatkhati police officials. On checking the vehicle, 61.39 grams of suspected heroine has been recovered.
Moreover, the police officials seized while it was being carried from Dimapur to Tezpur.
It needs to be noted that she is currently being interrogated by the police officials and further investigation into the matter is underway.
