NBCC Secures Rs 560 Crore Contract for NIT Sikkim’s Permanent Campus Construction
Northeast Desk, 20th February: State-owned NBCC announced on Tuesday that it has won a contract worth Rs 560 crore to construct the permanent campus of the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Sikkim.
In a regulatory filing, NBCC stated that it had secured the contract for constructing NIT Sikkim’s permanent campus at Dung Dung Khamdong, Gangtok, Sikkim.
The contract’s value is Rs 560 crore, highlighting NBCC’s expertise in project management consultancy (PMC) and real estate development.
In January, the National Institute of Technology Sikkim revealed a significant milestone, announcing on microblogging site X that it had successfully digitized and published a remarkable 8,075 academic awards on the National Academic Depository (NAD) over the past eight years.
NIT Sikkim shared that it had digitized 792 degrees and 7,283 mark sheets, positioning itself as a leader in academic innovation. Moreover, 892 students now possess their Academic Bank of Credit (ABC) IDs.
The institution’s commitment to embracing technological advancements in education is further underscored by its ranking based on the number of years published on the NAD. NIT Sikkim leads the pack with an impressive eight years, surpassing other notable institutions. Shri Ramasamy Memorial University and Sikkim Manipal University, both at seven years, closely follow NIT Sikkim in this academic digitization journey.
